Hot time gets a little too hot.

A fire broke out in Auberge 1082, a swinger’s club in Montreal, Canada, sending guests running out into the streets with minimal clothing and towels to escape the smoke and fire.

There were 10 people, three employees and seven guests, that were in the building at the time.

Five of the guests were trapped in rooms on the second floor. The guests reported that they tried to flee, but found the exits blocked. They tried to break the glass of one of the windows that would not open by throwing a television at it. The television eventually gave way before the glass.

In the end, firefighters were able to break through the window and help clients — some naked, others wearing only towels or robes — escape from the second floor on ladders.

“When they broke down the window, we could barely breathe. We came out, we were in a robe because, you know, it’s a swingers’ club,” said one client.

A neighbour in a nearby apartment, who also refused to be named, witnessed the evacuation from his window and said it was a sight to behold with people running out in towels, half naked in the street.

Investigators believe an electrical problem in the club’s basement sauna was to blame for the blaze.
