German ‘Gangsta’ Shoots himself in the Privates

A would-be gangster shot himself in the penis when his gun went off while it was stuffed in his pocket.
Lukas Neuhardt, 27, of Saarbruecken, Germany, stuffed the gun into his pants pocket to impress his pals. [Edit]Whether he forgot to put the safety on, or there was no external safety on the gun, is unclear. Either way, stuffing a gun into your pants is just dumb.
He told paramedics that a masked mugger had blasted him in the cr0tch in a bungled robbery.
But police found a hole in his statement when they saw that the gunshot had miraculously left his trousers intact.
“Instead there was a charred hole in his pocket so either it was the shot of the century or he did it himself,” said a police source.

So the gun you have pictured is a Glock that does not have a safety lever but a longer initial trigger pull (I wont get into specific details but you can google it).
Your comment is valid. I just am not sure whether or not the gun in question had a safety or not, as other sources don’t mention it. I chose a Glock for the illustration because the guy, being German, would most likely choose a Glock rather than, say a Springfield XD. So I kept the photo and noted the discrepancy in the story.

Glock has no safety????
the glock has multiple safeties but no external manual safety except the one on the trigger.
the most important of all is the safety between the earts of the handler. in this case the safety appeared to be innoperable.
a handgun in the pocket can be triggered by catching on fabric, loose change or an idiot placing his finger on the trigger either while handling it or removing it from his pocket.
thats why they make pocket holsters…and why nobody should be allowed to handle the gun without proper training. in this case with any amount of fortune, procreation and continuation of the offenders genes has been halted by this incident.
I think it’s much more likely that he stuffed whatever cheap piece of steel he was able to get in there. Perhaps a CZ or cheap Russian pistol? Something the Eastern European equivalent of a $120 Lorcin or Raven?
I’ve been carrying a glock naked (without holster) for years. Never had a problem.Then, again, Mother Nobody didn’t raise no fools.
The Brits, on the other hand, chose the Walther P-38 to illustrate this story. Perhaps here in the US we should use a cowboy action revolver?
